Known as the "City of a Thousand Spires," Prague is an enchanting bohemian city that is filled with spectacular medieval bridges, cathedrals and churches, and is steeped in history and culture. Considered by many to be one of the most beautiful cities in all of Europe, Prague has been an important cultural and economic center since it was established in the late 9th century. With a variety of historic monuments, landmarks, museums, and attractions, it's no wonder that Prague is one of the most popular visitor destinations in the world.

Malá Strana
One of Prague's oldest districts, the Malá Strana offers a wide range of historical landmarks and monuments for visitors to enjoy. Located on the slopes below the Prague Castle, the Malá Strana's distinctive Baroque architectural features and predominance of historical landmarks makes the area a must-see on any visit to Prague.

Charles Bridge
Erected in the 15th century to serve as a connection between Prague Castle and the Old Town area, the Charles Bridge is a gothic masterpiece that spans the Vlatva River and features 30 baroque statues that were added in the 1700s.

Vlatva River
The longest river in the Czech Republic, the Vlatva flows for over 260 miles and gets its name from an old Germanic term, "Wilt Ahwa," meaning wild water. The river is spanned by several bridges in Prague, including the famous Charles Bridge.

Prague Castle
As one of the largest castles in the world, the Prague Castle has enjoyed a long history since its inception as a small church in the 9th century. Over the years, many buildings were added to the castle and today the castle complex contains several museums, St. Vitus Cathedral, the St. George Monastery, six royal palaces, and seven gardens.

National Theater
Perched on the bank of the Vltava River, the golden roof of the Prague National Theater is one of the most popular landmarks in Prague. The neo-renaissance building is used to present both ballet and opera and is a rich cultural and artistic institution.
